About the University:

The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava is a modern educational and scientific higher education institution. Since its foundation, in 1937, more than 155,000 students have graduated from the University. In average, 12,000 students study at the University every year.

At present, The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava consists of seven faculties. All faculties provide study in accredited study programs within the complex system of bachelor, master and doctoral studies. The faculties offer credit system compatible with the European credit transfer system enabling mutual mobility of students within the European Union member states and larger European space. In the area of scientific and research activities, the University successfully participates in the European Union programs.

Today, Slovak University of Technology is a modern technical university with a reputation and international ambitions. The trend towards greater internationalisation is documented by the growing share of foreign students. We are also successful in obtaining the investment and research grants. In the period 2020 – 2023, within the Consortium with the partnering Comenius University in Bratislava, we are implementing the largest academic investment project in the history of Slovakia, in the amount of 111 million euros.

Slovak University of Technology is the leader of several grants within the Horizon 2020 programme. STU has also been involved in the establishment of the European Infrastructure Manufacturing, a prestigious European platform. In international rankings, we are regularly placed in the TOP 1000 best world universities. According to the Shanghai ranking 2020, STU belongs to the TOP 500 group in the field of mathematics. In the QS ranking, we are the 710th out of more than 20,000 world universities.
