Choose a programme and check its rules
Slovakia has English-taught programmes in medicine, dentistry and pharmacy. Details vary by faculty and intake, so start with the official admission page rather than an old list of fees or dates.
- Comenius Faculty of Medicine, Bratislava: English General Medicine and Dentistry.
- UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine, Košice: English General Medicine and Dental Medicine.
- Jessenius Faculty of Medicine, Martin: English General Medicine.
- Comenius Faculty of Pharmacy: English Pharmacy.
Applications and costs
Faculties publish eligibility conditions, entrance exams, fees and annual tuition. General Medicine is commonly a six-year programme. The current English dental programmes at Comenius Bratislava and UPJŠ list five years, and English Pharmacy at Comenius is a five-year combined degree. Check the exact curriculum and fees for the year you would start. The 2026 admission dates listed in older guides have passed.
Plan for tuition, accommodation, insurance, transport and daily costs. Ask the university about dormitories and scholarships and request its current fee schedule. Professional licensing after graduation depends on the country where you intend to work.
Visa and residence information
Citizenship, length of stay and type of study affect whether a national visa, temporary residence for study or another route applies. The Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs explains general routes for foreign students. Confirm the exact process, documents and appointments with your university and the Slovak embassy responsible for your country or the competent Foreign Police department.
EduSlovakia offers educational consulting and university application support. It does not prepare, submit or manage visa or residence permit applications. This guide is general information only; applicants remain responsible for their documents, deadlines and submissions. Admission, visa and residence approval are never guaranteed.
