University of Economics in Bratislava

The University of Economics in Bratislava was founded in 1940 as the Higher School of Commerce. This university is one of the most important educational and research institutions in the Slovakia. The University of Economics in Bratislava provides higher education in the field of economics, business and management in bachelor, master and doctoral study programmes for full‑time and part‑time students.

 

It offers 61 study programmes at all three levels of higher education, in accordance with the Bologna process. Approximately 520 teachers work and 8,000 students study at the University. In addition to study programmes taught in Slovak language, the University offers also individual courses (subjects) and complete study programmes taught in English and other foreign languages, e.g. German and French, and in a smaller extent also in Spanish and Russian.

 

The University of Economics in Bratislava co‑operates with 385 universities from outside Slovakia

through bilateral Erasmus+ agreements, as well as within a framework of other agreements. The co‑operation includes student and teacher mobility, common research projects, publications and participation in scientific conferences and workshops. The University of Economics in Bratislava is involved in many international projects within the European Union programmes, such as Erasmus+, the European Social Fund and others.

      All accredited Master’s programmes in Economics offered through Slovak universities are in-person only. Unfortunately, at this moment there are no fully online options available for this field in Slovakia. Even programs that include some online elements still require regular on-campus attendance.
