Student identification and discounts
Many Slovak universities issue a student card that can also carry ISIC benefits. The card can be useful for campus services and selected student discounts, but eligibility, validity and renewal depend on the institution and the provider. Ask your university how to obtain or renew its student ID.
For transport in the Bratislava region, IDS BK lists the conditions for student fares, including age and proof requirements. A card alone may not be sufficient if the discount entitlement or transport function has not been activated. Check your status before buying a reduced ticket.
Before you rely on a discount
- Confirm the card’s current validity and whether it needs a new school-year extension.
- Ask the transport operator which card or app is accepted for your route.
- Check the merchant’s current ISIC terms; discounts are not universal.
- Keep another accepted identity document where required.
